On the way home from work/school today, we had a chance to catch up on how the day went:
D: "Mom, you know how I told you about the jazz band tryouts and that Mr. Gore (band teacher) would set a date for the actual tryouts? Well, he did set it and apparantly the partial tryouts were the real ones and . . . I made the jazz band!
N: (looking in the rear view mirror to see his face) "Really? You made it?"
D: "Yes, I'm serious! I'm not joking!"
N: "That's awesome! I'm so happy for you! That really made my day!"
D: "Well, don't crash the car."
N: "I won't, I'm just so excited for you."
D: "I just can't stop grinning!"
(So Daniel will be one of four drummers--all 8th graders--in the Meigs Jazz Band for 2008-09. Cool!)
